The 23-year-old forward gained attention after being invited to Nigeria’s AFCON qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe in September, but didn’t play due to an injury setback.
According to information from Sport Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt, led by manager Dino Toppmöller, is still actively searching for a striker to fill the void left by departure of Kolo-Muani. However, the club has reportedly cooled its interest in Orban, not because of a dip in his form, but rather due to the presence of a similar profile player on their roster – Omar Marmoush.
The publication suggests that Eintracht Frankfurt believes Marmoush, already on their books, fulfills the role they are seeking, making Orban less of an ideal candidate for the club. Especially considering the current market value of the Nigerian that is estimated at €20 million according to Transfermarkt. This development comes at a time when Die Adler is keen on reinforcing its attacking options and maintaining a competitive edge in the Bundesliga.
