The Cottagers have extended a new contract offer to the 18-year-old Nigerian midfielder Chibby Nwoko, as per by allnigeriasoccer.com.
Nwoko, a left-footed talent, has been with Fulham since joining from Chelsea academy at the U12 level and is now in the final month of his current deal.
The London club is keen to secure Nwoko’s future before pre-season training begins. If accepted, this contract would be Nwoko’s first professional deal, following his scholarship agreement signed two years ago. This move would underline Fulham’s commitment to nurturing young talent and ensuring a strong squad for the future.
Known for his versatility across the midfield, Nwoko has primarily been deployed as a midfield enforcer, praised for his ability to control the game’s tempo with composure. During the last season, he featured in various competitions, including the U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup, Premier League 2, Premier League Cup, and Premier League International Cup, scoring four goals.
Looking ahead, Nwoko is anticipated to join Fulham’s development squad full-time next season. Despite having represented England’s youth teams in friendlies, Nwoko remains open to playing for Nigeria if the opportunity arises.
