The Spurs are reportedly keen on securing the services of Michael Kayode, the highly-rated Fiorentina’s Nigerian right-back, to strengthen their defense during the current transfer window, as per Tuttomercato.
Tottenham sees Kayode as a potential successor to Emerson Royal, who is expected to leave the club this summer. Emerson has been linked with moves to AC Milan, the Saudi Pro League, and Flamengo, prompting Spurs to seek a capable replacement.
Kayode, valued at €40 million by Transfermarkt, is under contract with Fiorentina until 2028. The 19-year-old defender impressed in the last Serie A season, making 26 appearances and contributing to three goals.
Despite being named in the matchday squad 11 times during the 2022/2023 season, Kayode did not make his debut until August last year against Genoa. He subsequently made 37 appearances across all competitions in his first full season with the Fiorentina first team.
