Napoli is set to make significant financial savings this season as Galatasaray has agreed to cover Victor Osimhen’s entire salary during his loan period, as per Football Italia.
While the Turkish Super Lig club has yet to officially announce the move, Osimhen has already arrived in Istanbul to undergo his medical examination, signaling the final steps of the transfer.

Osimhen, who earns a net salary of approximately €10 million per season, will have his wages fully paid by Galatasaray throughout the duration of his one-year loan. Italian sources suggest his earnings could be closer to €11 million, making the total savings for Napoli even more substantial.

Factoring in performance-related bonuses and additional compensation, Napoli is expected to save around €22 million gross for the 2024-25 season. This financial relief comes after Napoli’s attempts to sell Osimhen in a permanent deal fell through on deadline day, leaving the club to seek alternative solutions.
Despite this temporary move, Napoli is keen to maintain control over Osimhen’s future. Reports indicate that the club plans to negotiate a contract extension with the striker, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2026. By extending his contract until 2027, Napoli aims to secure a better bargaining position in future transfer negotiations, avoiding the typical price reduction that occurs when a player enters the final year of their contract.
As Galatasaray prepares to finalize the deal, Napoli will benefit from the financial flexibility this agreement provides, allowing them to focus on other priorities for the season ahead.
