Premier League club Nottingham Forest is in advanced discussions with Nigerian right-back Ola Aina over a new four-year contract, as per allnigeriasoccer.com.
The two-time European champions are eager to extend Aina’s stay at the City Ground following his impressive performances this season.
Aina, who joined Forest as a free agent in July 2023, has made 26 appearances across all competitions and contributed to two goals. He recently received praise for his standout display in Forest’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, where he successfully neutralized Luis Díaz.
If negotiations are successful, Aina will remain at Nottingham Forest until at least the end of the 2027-2028 season. The club has moved swiftly to secure the Nigeria international’s future, as his current deal is set to expire in June 2025. As per Transfermarkt, the players current value estimates at €12 million.
Aina also shone on the international stage, being named the best right-back at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and earning a spot in the tournament’s Team of the Tournament.
