The highly-rated Nigerian-born midfielder at Empoli, has become the center of a transfer tug-of-war between Serie A sides Torino and the title race leaders Atalanta as the January window approaches, Tutto Atalanta reports.
The 22-year-old, who joined Empoli from Chelsea on a free transfer last summer, has made a strong impression in his debut Serie A season, featuring in 15 matches. Tino Anjorin’s performances have caught the eye of Torino, who are eager to strengthen their midfield and are also targeting Cesare Casadei, another former Chelsea player currently on loan at Empoli.
Chelsea, however, holds a 40% sell-on clause for Anjorin, which could play a significant role in negotiations for the player’s transfer.
Meanwhile, Atalanta has entered the fray and could present a tempting proposition with their European ambitions and more robust financial resources. Their involvement adds an intriguing dimension to the race for Anjorin’s signature.
Empoli, for their part, is in no rush to sell and intends to carefully assess any offers for the talented midfielder before making a decision. With interest heating up, this could develop into one of the most exciting transfer sagas of the winter window.
