Sevilla’s Sporting Director, Víctor Orta, has provided an update regarding Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho‘s future at the club, as per Soccernet.NG.
Since joining Sevilla after his contract with Leicester City ended, the 28-year-old has struggled to make a significant impact. The recent signing of fellow Nigerian striker Akor Adams has intensified speculation about Iheanacho’s possible exit.
Orta revealed that Iheanacho is currently considering three offers as the transfer window approaches its final week. He stated:
“There is one week left, and I think there are three offers. It’s a matter of the player choosing his best option for the next six months.”
Acknowledging that the club had higher expectations for Iheanacho’s performance, Orta emphasized that this does not reflect on the player’s inherent quality. He added,
“We all expected a higher performance from him. That has nothing to do with his quality, and there is interest from other teams. I believe he wants to play more, and we’ll see what happens until Monday.”
