Stade Rennais FC is reportedly close to finalizing a deal to acquire 22-year-old Belgian winger of Nigerian descent Kazeem Olaigbe from Cercle Brugge, as per Lefootenbref.
Olaigbe, who began his youth career at Anderlecht before moving to Southampton in 2019, has been with Cercle Brugge since August 2023. During his tenure at Cercle Brugge, he has made 47 appearances and scored 7 goals.
Rennes has reportedly offered €3.5 million plus €500,000 in bonuses for Olaigbe. Although the initial offer was rejected, discussions between the two clubs are ongoing, and a total agreement is close to being finalized.
Olaigbe has represented Belgium at various youth levels, including the U15, U16, U17, U19, U20, and U21 teams, showcasing his potential and versatility on the international stage.
According to Transfermarkt, Olaigbe’s current market value is €1.8 million.
This potential acquisition aligns with Rennes’ active approach in the winter transfer market as they aim to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.
