Nigerian striker Elvis Isaac has completed a move to Czech Republic side SK Dynamo České Budějovice from Slovakian top-flight giants Slovan Bratislava. The forward also addressed the delay in finalizing his transfer, revealing to Kick Off Nigeria that he had several offers on the table.
The 22-year-old, who was included in Slovan Bratislava’s squad for the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and group stage campaign, turned down multiple offers to make his dream of playing in the Czech top flight a reality.
In an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria, the promising forward expressed his excitement about the move and revealed why he rejected potential transfers to Austria, Serbia, and North Macedonia.
“To be honest, I’m excited to take this big step in my career, leaving Slovakia for a fresh challenge in a new country and league,” Isaac said. “For me, the Czech league is much tougher than the Slovakian league, with a lot of talented players. It’s also more advanced in terms of competition and structure.”
The Nigerian forward also addressed the delay in finalizing his transfer, revealing that he had several offers on the table. “The move took time because I had plenty of offers, including from FC Struga (North Macedonia), TSV Hartberg (Austria), OFK Beograd (Serbia), and MFK Tatran Liptovský Mikuláš (Slovakia).”
Ultimately, he decided to join Dynamo České Budějovice, believing the club and league would provide him with better opportunities.
“I chose Dynamo České Budějovice because I feel this league will give me the exposure I need. Now, it’s up to me to put in the work. The club is in a tough spot right now, but I look forward to playing a key role in helping the team stay in the Czech top flight.”
Career Journey and Rise in European Football
Isaac began his professional football career at G12 Football Academy, a Lagos-based club in Nigeria, before earning his first contract with Spartak Dubnica nad Váhom in 2021. His performances caught the attention of Slovan Bratislava, who initially signed him on loan before securing a permanent transfer in 2023. He quickly earned a place in the club’s UEFA Champions League squad, impressing with his development at the B team level.
Now, with a fresh challenge in the Czech top division, Isaac is ready to make an impact and prove himself on a bigger stage.
