The Spanish club is preparing to make Umar Sadiq’s loan move permanent, with the total cost of the transfer set to reach €10,5 million, as per Todo Fichajes.
The Nigerian striker, who joined from Real Sociedad in January, has impressed with his performances at Mestalla, and the club sees him as a key piece for the future. While no final decision will be made until Valencia secures its place in La Liga, the expectation is that Sadiq will sign a long-term deal with the Spanish side.
Sadiq’s Resurgence at Mestalla
Sadiq, who previously shone at Almería, was deemed surplus to requirements at Real Sociedad under Imanol Alguacil in January. However, his performances at Mestalla have been far more convincing than those of the Basque side’s current strikers.
His loan deal initially cost Valencia €500,000, with additional clauses that could raise the total fee. If the striker plays more than 60% of available minutes, another €500,000 will be triggered. Additionally, securing La Liga survival will bring another €500,000 in bonuses. According to Transfermarkt the player’s current value is estimated at €5 million.
The purchase option has been set at €9M, meaning that if Valencia moves forward with the permanent signing, the total cost of the transfer will reach €10.5M.
A Win-Win Situation for Real Sociedad?
For Real Sociedad, this fee helps them recoup part of their initial €22M investment in Sadiq. If Valencia does not activate the purchase option, the Nigerian would return to Anoeta, but his future at the club would likely depend on whether Imanol Alguacil remains as head coach.
However, if everything goes according to plan, Sadiq is expected to sign a long-term contract with Valencia, solidifying his role as a key player in their attack.
