Promising Nigerian youngster Elijah Odede has been compared to Brazilian and Real Madrid forward Vinícius Jr due to his blistering pace and similar style of play.
Odede, previously unheralded, signed his first professional contract during the January transfer window with Moldovan giants Sheriff Tiraspol, who compete in the Moldovan Super League.
The Nigerian forward, who penned a long-term deal with Sheriff Tiraspol, has drawn high praise, with player agent Roni Layous likening him to Vinícius Jr in an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria.
“Odede is a talent from Nigeria that everyone should keep an eye on. He has the potential to be the next Vinícius Jr, as both players share a similar playing style,” said Layous. “Odede is fast, strong, and his ability to finish with both his right and left foot makes him a lethal player—one who is not easily neutralized in games.”
“He has already made an impact, scoring a brace in Sheriff Tiraspol’s 9-0 win in the Moldovan Cup and earlier today registering an assist in their 3-0 victory over Spartanii. His talent is undeniable. Give him a few years in Europe, and he will become a feared forward.», he added.
With his signing at Sheriff Tiraspol, Odede joins the ranks of Nigerian players at the club, further strengthening the growing presence of Nigerian footballers in Moldova.
