Turkish side Ankara Keçiörengücü Spor Kulübü has blocked the permanent transfer of Nigerian midfielder Christain Alex to Kuwaiti outfit Burgan Sports Club, recalling the 21-year-old ahead of the new season.
In an exclusive chat with Kick Off Nigeria, the player confirmed ongoing interest from Burgan SC, who were keen on securing his services on a permanent basis following the expiration of his loan spell.
“Yes, Burgan Sports Club reached out to Ankara Keçiörengücü for a permanent transfer, but the club declined, saying I have a place in the coach’s plans this season,” Innocent revealed. “It wasn’t just Burgan SC—I had offers from other clubs too, but the club turned them down because I still have a valid contract with them.”
“Right now, I’m back with the rest of the squad, fully involved in pre-season, and looking forward to the new campaign,” he added.
Innocent joined Ankara Keçiörengücü from Nigerian side Gombe United in 2022. Since then, he has been sent out on loan to Kosovan club KF Liria and more recently to Burgan SC in Kuwait.
