Leeds United have officially confirmed the signing of Nigerian international Leonard Ngenge from Remo Stars FC.
The teenage defender joins the Championship club’s academy setup after agreeing a contract that runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.
Ngenge, 18, arrives at Elland Road following a breakout period in his native Nigeria, where he made seven appearances for Remo Stars during the current campaign.
Despite his age, the centre-back has already earned two senior caps for the Super Eagles. He made his international debut against Senegal last year and followed that up with an appearance against Sudan.
Developing for the future
Leeds have beaten off competition from several European sides to secure Ngenge’s signature, with the club viewing the defender as a long-term prospect for the first team.
The move marks a continuation of United’s strategy to recruit high-potential talent for their Under-21 side before integrating them into the senior squad under manager Daniel Farke.
