Djurgårdens IF have completed the signing of highly rated Nigerian winger Angelo Agbejoye, with the 18-year-old agreeing a five-year deal after attracting interest from clubs across Europe.
Agbejoye joins the Swedish side from Nigerian outfit Grassrunners FC and becomes Djurgården’s first signing of the summer transfer window as the club continues to invest in emerging young talent.
Primarily a right winger, the left-footed attacker has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s promising prospects thanks to his pace, dribbling ability and eye for goal. Djurgården’s recruitment team had reportedly monitored the teenager for an extended period before moving to secure his signature.
The Allsvenskan club believe Agbejoye possesses the attributes to develop into a key first-team player in the coming years. Standing at 1.77m, the winger is capable of operating across the forward line but is most effective cutting inside from the right flank.

Speaking after completing the move, Agbejoye expressed his excitement at joining one of Sweden’s biggest clubs and highlighted his attacking qualities, describing himself as a player who thrives on creating chances, scoring goals and helping his team win matches.
Djurgården scout Jonatan Axelsson revealed the club’s interest had been building for some time, with extensive scouting in both Nigeria and through video analysis playing a significant role in the transfer.
The move represents a major step in Agbejoye’s career as he makes the transition from Nigerian football to Europe. Djurgården have developed a reputation for providing young players with opportunities to progress, and the club view the teenager as a player with considerable long-term potential.
For Agbejoye, the challenge now will be adapting to life in Sweden and competing for opportunities in the first team. If his development continues on its current trajectory, Djurgården may have secured one of the most exciting young Nigerian talents to move to Scandinavia in recent years.
