Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu is increasingly likely to remain at Trabzonspor after Fulham and Crystal Palace failed to agree a deal for the 23-year-old, according to Footy-Africa.
Both Premier League clubs held talks with Trabzonspor over a potential transfer, but their proposals did not meet the Turkish club’s valuation, understood to be around €30 million.
With the transfer window nearing its deadline, Trabzonspor are becoming increasingly reluctant to sell unless a significant late offer is received.
Fulham continue pursuit of Chibuike Nwaiwu, Trabzonspor hold firm on price
Nwaiwu is comfortable with staying in Turkey and is prepared to continue with Trabzonspor if no agreement is reached with another club.
The defender has attracted considerable interest following his impressive performances since joining the Turkish side, but the financial gap has so far prevented a move to the Premier League.
Unless a club meets Trabzonspor’s €30 million valuation, Nwaiwu is expected to remain with the Turkish club.
