FC Porto have signed Nigerian teenager Abraham Chibuike Obasi on a professional contract, with the 18-year-old set to begin his development with the club’s Under-19 side.
Porto confirmed the move on Tuesday, bringing Obasi to Portugal after he impressed in Nigerian youth football and at international academy tournaments.
The forward made a name for himself at One Touch Abuja, particularly during the 2026 Viareggio Cup in Italy. He scored four goals in five appearances, finishing among the competition’s leading scorers.

Obasi also featured for Porto’s Under-18 side at the Best Cup in Madrid in August, coming off the bench in a 2-1 victory over Espanyol in the final.
After completing his move, Obasi said his immediate aim was to contribute goals and help the team progress.
The teenager will now join Porto’s Under-19 setup for the 2026-27 season as he begins the next stage of his development in one of Portugal’s leading youth systems.
Obasi’s long-term objective will be to progress through the academy and eventually challenge for a place in Porto’s senior team.
