Samuel Chukwueze says Ruben Amorim‘s confidence and regular playing time have helped him rediscover his best form at AC Milan.
“Playing 90 minutes means he has confidence in me, and I have to keep showing the coach reasons to keep playing me,” Chukwueze told Footy-Africa.
“Last season I wasn’t a regular, but this season has been different. The confidence is back, and I will hopefully keep showing what I can do.”
Chukwueze also said Milan’s objective remains winning the league title.
“With Milan, the target is always to win the championship. That’s the main target for me and my teammates. We want to make the Milan fans happy.”
The Nigeria winger struggled after joining Milan in 2024, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 26 appearances. He spent last season on loan at Fulham, where he contributed three goals and four assists in 25 games.
Fulham opted against making the move permanent, allowing Chukwueze to return to Milan, where he has quickly become an important player under Amorim.
The 27-year-old has started four of Milan’s five matches this season and has provided two assists.
