Emmanuel Dennis has been given another chance at Brøndby after the Nigeria international failed to secure a move away from the Danish club during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old had been told he could leave, but a move did not materialise after an injury disrupted his pre-season and kept him out of action for several months.
Brøndby sporting director Julius Ohnesorge previously confirmed that both the club and Dennis wanted to find a new team for the former Watford and Nottingham Forest forward.
With the transfer window now closed, however, Dennis has returned to first-team training and made his first appearance under new head coach Thomas Nørgaard in a 1-1 friendly draw with IK Sirius.
“He has been away for quite a while, so he hasn’t reached everything the others have with our principles,” Nørgaard told Bold. “He got a little extra help and love.”
Nørgaard stressed that Dennis will now be treated like any other member of the squad and can earn his place through his performances.
Dennis joined Brøndby in January on a contract until 2028 and made 11 Danish Superliga appearances last season, scoring once.
His next target will be a competitive return, with Brøndby facing Lyngby on 11 October.
