Nigerian winger Victor Boluwatife Ogungbayi has officially inked a new contract with the Slavia Prague, committing to stay until June 30, 2028. The announcement was made by the club in a statement released via official website.
The 19-year-old offensive talent joined Slavia Prague from his home team, Ilaji FC, in the 2022/2023 season. Despite his relatively short time with the club, Ogungbayi has showcased his prowess on the field, earning five starts for the A-team, alongside contributions to the U19 selection and Slavia B-team. According to Transfermarkt his current market value is estimated at €150,000.
One of the standout moments for Ogungbayi was his participation in the Europa League group game against Sheriff Tiraspol, where Slavia secured a commanding 6-0 victory. The Nigerian winger not only played a crucial role in the match but also provided a premiership assist for the senior selection.
Ogungbayi’s impact has been particularly noteworthy in the youth team under the age of nineteen, where he boasts an impressive record of ten goals in seven matches. His performance has not only caught the attention of fans but has also solidified his position as a rising star within the club.
Expressing his joy at the contract extension, Ogungbayi remarked, “I am very happy about the extension of the contract. Playing in Slavia is a big thing for me, I appreciate the opportunity very much. Prague is a wonderful city, and I am glad that I can stay here longer. I’ve scored a few goals for the B-team, and I can’t wait to make my mark in the A-team as well. I’m gaining experience, the coaches and players are helping me a lot because the intensity is high. In the first team, everyone wants to play games, and if you can do that, you are the best. I believe that I will succeed.”
