What seemed like a routine transfer turned into a challenging journey for Nigerian midfielder Favour Aroyameh, whose move to MLS club FC Dallas nearly collapsed due to visa denials and last-minute complications. According to his agent, Baninla Ngassa, the 18-year-old overcame multiple setbacks before finally securing a three-year deal with the American side.
In an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria, the FIFA-licensed agent shared the emotional and logistical hurdles behind the scenes.
“Aroyameh has finally joined FC Dallas, signing a three-year deal with the MLS club,” Ngassa confirmed.
“I’m delighted that the deal pulled through after some major hitches—from visa denial to crucial last-minute decisions. He’s already in the U.S. and will begin training after completing his medicals,” he added.
Often compared to Wilfred Ndidi for his powerful box-to-box style, Aroyameh has quickly caught the eye of scouts and fans alike. FC Dallas reportedly beat off competition from other clubs to land the young midfielder, who is now seen as one of Nigeria’s brightest emerging talents.
Having wrapped up medicals and completed all necessary paperwork, Aroyameh is now set for official unveiling by ‘Los Toros’, becoming the first Nigerian player on the club’s books.
The Lagos-born star began his professional journey at Inter Lagos, a second-tier Nigerian side, where he developed a reputation for his high work rate and tactical discipline. He then made a brief stop at North Texas SC, Dallas’s MLS Next Pro affiliate, where he adapted quickly to the North American football environment.
Now, with a new chapter beginning in Major League Soccer, Aroyameh will be looking to make an immediate impact—and prove that the difficult path to get here was worth every step.
