Atletico Madrid have rejected Chelsea’s €30 million bid plus add-ons for Nigerian-eligible striker Samuel Omorodion, according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.
Omorodion, who has a release clause of €80 million, is not desperate to leave Atletico unless an offer is too good to refuse. Chelsea, however, are not willing to trigger the release clause, leaving room only for a potential agreement between the two clubs.
The total offer from Chelsea could have reached up to €40 million with add-ons, but Atletico Madrid turned it down. According to transfermarkt the player’s current value estimates at €35 million.

The west London club has been impressed by Omorodion’s loan spell at Deportivo Alavés last season, where he scored eight goals and provided one assist across all competitions. Despite a dip in form towards the end of the season, Omorodion’s potential remains recognized.
Chelsea is not the only club interested in the 20-year-old striker. Roma and West Ham have also expressed interest, with the Hammers joining Chelsea as the only two Premier League clubs to have officially made an offer.
Atletico Madrid’s rejection of Chelsea’s bid underscores their desire to retain Omorodion. The Spain U21 international, who joined Atletico from Granada in the summer of 2023 on a five-year contract, is considered a bright prospect and a valuable asset for the future.
