The Ligue1 club has made a significant addition to their squad by signing Nigerian defender Gabriel Osho from relegated from the Premier League Luton Town, according to the Auxerre official website.
The 25-year-old has inked a one-year contract with an option for two additional years and will don the number 3 jersey. The financial details of the deal have been undisclosed, but Transfermarkt estimates the player’s current market value at €3 million.
Born and trained in Reading, Gabriel Osho has spent his entire career in England, establishing himself as one of the most reliable central defenders in the Championship.
His crucial goal in the play-off semi-final helped secure Luton’s historic promotion to the Premier League for the 2022-2023 season. Last season, Osho made 21 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals and testing his skills against some of the world’s best forwards.
Despite being called up to the Nigerian national team in March, Osho was unable to make his debut for the Super Eagles due to an injury.
