Former Fulham forward Sylvester Jasper is attracting interest from Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, according to Football Insider.
The 22-year-old is a free agent after mutually terminating his contract with Portuguese club Portimonense last month, sparking interest from several clubs, including the two English sides.
Born in London to a Nigerian father and a Bulgarian mother, Jasper is eligible to play for Nigeria, Bulgaria, and England. Although he has already represented Bulgaria at the U21 level, appearing in a European Championship qualifier in 2021, he has yet to feature for any senior national team, leaving the door open for a potential switch to Nigeria if he chooses to pursue that option. Earlier in his youth, Jasper also played for England at the U15 and U16 levels, showcasing his international versatility.
Jasper’s availability has caught the attention of Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, both of whom are looking to strengthen their squads as they compete in the Football League. Alongside the interest from these two English clubs, Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda is also monitoring the situation, keeping a close eye on the talented forward.
Jasper’s football journey began at Fulham, where he spent 11 years developing through their youth system.
Although Jasper started strong during his first season with Portimonense, he struggled for game time towards the end of the season, leading to his departure by mutual consent. Now, with his free-agent status, he’s weighing his options, and with clubs from both England and the Netherlands keen on his services, he has several potential paths ahead.
Given his eligibility to represent Nigeria, Jasper could also be a potential target for the Super Eagles, should he opt to switch his international allegiance. With his versatility on the field and his international flexibility, Jasper remains a player to watch as his next move approaches.
