German club Borussia Mönchengladbach are reportedly tracking Arsenal’s versatile forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, who is eligible to represent three nations, including Nigeria, as per Football Insider.
According to recent reports, Borussia Mönchengladbach has been closely observing Butler-Oyedeji’s performances, regularly sending scouts to assess his development in Arsenal’s academy. His standout form this season has not gone unnoticed, as he continues to impress with five goals and two assists in six appearances for the Under-21s.
The 21-year-old can play for Nigeria, where his father is from, Saint Vincent through his mother, and England, his birth country.
While he has yet to make his first-team debut, Butler-Oyedeji’s inclusion in Arsenal’s Premier League and Champions League squads under manager Mikel Arteta this season has further increased interest in the young attacker.
During the summer transfer window, Belgian clubs Standard Liege and Eupen were rumored to be considering a move for Butler-Oyedeji, but he remained at Arsenal, where his potential is being carefully nurtured. His mixed loan spell at Cheltenham last season, where he failed to find the net in 14 appearances, did little to derail his progress upon returning to the Gunners’ youth setup.
