Championship clubs Coventry City, Middlesbrough F.C. and Southampton F.C. are monitoring Prosper Obah, the Nigerian winger who has impressed since joining FC Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this year.
Obah moved to the Ukrainian club from F.C. Vizela in January on a long-term contract running until 2030 and has quickly established himself as an influential attacking option.
The 21-year-old has contributed 12 goal involvements – eight goals and four assists – in 20 appearances, attracting interest from clubs across Europe. Scouts from Coventry, Middlesbrough and Southampton are understood to have watched him in recent matches.
Obah’s pace and ability to play on either wing or in an attacking midfield role have made him one of the standout young performers in Ukraine this season. His versatility and direct style are considered well suited to the physical demands of English football.
Clubs in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands are also following his progress as the season enters its final stages.
Shakhtar view the winger as one of their most valuable assets and are not expected to consider offers below €15m–€20m.
While no formal bids have been made, interest from England could intensify before the summer transfer window if Obah maintains his current form.
