Glasgow Rangers’ Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers is reportedly close to leaving the club just one season after his arrival, with Greek champions PAOK expressing strong interest, according to Soccernet.NG.
Dessers, who joined Rangers last summer, had a commendable debut season in the Scottish Premiership, netting 16 goals and providing four assists in 35 appearances. Despite some criticism for occasional missed opportunities, his overall performance was notable for a newcomer.
However, recent reports indicate that the 29-year-old striker has submitted a transfer request, with PAOK keen on securing his services. According to sources from the Daily Mail and Nova Sports, PAOK has already made an offer, though Rangers have yet to accept it.
Currently valued at €4 million by Transfermarkt, Dessers could be sold for around €5 million. Should the transfer proceed, Dessers will join fellow Nigerian and Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong at PAOK, marking the tenth club of his professional career.
