Following Victor Osimhen’s season-long loan to Turkey, another Süper Lig club, Eyüpspor, is reportedly interested in signing Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru, as per Sabah.
The former Galatasaray star, currently with Saudi Pro-League side Al Fayha, has attracted attention from Eyüpspor, who are keen to strengthen their squad, according to Milliyet via Sabah Spor.
Onyekuru, who has previously had three successful stints at Galatasaray, has been in contact with Eyüpspor over a possible return to Turkey. With his contract at Al Fayha set to expire next summer, Eyüpspor may have to pay his current valuation of €4.5 million or negotiate a reduced fee to secure the 27-year-old’s services before the Turkish transfer window closes.
Despite being sidelined by injury since the end of last season, Onyekuru remains an attractive prospect for Eyüpspor, who are making a splash in their debut Süper Lig campaign. Led by former Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, Eyüpspor have already picked up eight points from their opening four matches and are seeking experienced additions like Onyekuru to solidify their place in the league.
The Nigerian forward has made 83 appearances in the Süper Lig, scoring 28 goals and providing 14 assists during his time with Galatasaray. Eyüpspor is eager to add that experience to their ranks as they navigate their first-ever season in the Turkish top flight.
