Second Bundesliga club FC Nürnberg is actively seeking to loan Nigeria eligible Pharrell Nnamdi Collins, a promising center-back from Eintracht Frankfurt, as per German media outlet Kicker.
Collins, who is eligible to represent Nigeria, joined Frankfurt from Borussia Dortmund last summer but has struggled for first-team opportunities, making only two senior appearances while featuring 16 times for the youth squad.
According to reports from Kicker, Nürnberg has initiated discussions with Frankfurt regarding a potential loan deal for the 20-year-old defender. Although no agreement has been reached yet, Frankfurt is open to the move. The club’s sports director, Timmo Hardung, emphasizes the importance of selecting a destination that will aid Collins’ development.
Standing at 1.91 meters, Collins’ contract with Frankfurt extends until 2028. Despite limited first-team action, he showcased his talent by scoring in a 12-0 friendly win over TSV 1873 Heusenstamm.
As talks progress, Nürnberg remains hopeful of securing Collins to strengthen their defense for the upcoming season.
