Galatasaray has officially announced the signing of Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen on loan from SSC Napoli for the 2024-2025 season, as per the club’s official website.
The Turkish club has also shared the news via the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), confirming that the transfer is on a free loan basis.
A key highlight of the deal is Osimhen’s decision to accept a significant pay cut. At Napoli, Osimhen earns €10 million per year, but he has agreed to join Galatasaray for a reduced salary of €6 million for the season, what was also officially confirmed by the Turkish club.

This €4 million difference shows the striker’s commitment to the move, as he willingly accepted the downgrade in wages to make it happen.
Earlier reports indicated that Galatasaray would cover Osimhen’s full salary during the loan period, allowing Napoli to save millions on his wages while he plays in Turkey.
The club’s statement read:
“An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSC Napoli SPA for the free loan transfer of the player.”
This signing is a major boost for Galatasaray as they strengthen their squad for both domestic and European competitions. Osimhen, known for his speed, power, and goal-scoring ability, is expected to make a big impact in the team’s attack.
The club has expressed its excitement over the deal, emphasizing that Osimhen’s willingness to take a pay cut shows his dedication to Galatasaray’s ambitions for the upcoming season.
