Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has thrown his full support behind Kenneth Omeruo, following the centre-back’s move to Romanian side CFR Cluj, as per Footy-Africa.
Udeze said he believes the 2013 AFCON winner still has what it takes to compete at the top level and reclaim his place in Nigeria’s national team—if he stays fit and plays regularly.
“Omeruo is a top defender, no doubt,” Udeze said. “He just needs to be consistent, stay injury-free, and the rest will follow.”
Omeruo, 31, recently signed a two-year deal with Cluj after parting ways with Turkish club Kasimpasa. Having fully recovered from injury, he’s now set on reigniting his career and pushing for a Super Eagles comeback.
