Nigerian midfielder Daniel Wotlai has reaffirmed his full commitment to helping KF Egnatia Rrogozhinë secure the Albanian League title, stating he remains unbothered by growing transfer speculation linking him with a summer move.
In an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria, the talented midfielder acknowledged interest from several clubs but emphasized that his sole focus is on his current team’s success.
“Yes, some clubs have contacted my agent, and he’s informed me,” Wotlai said. “But I’m not interested in knowing which clubs right now because helping my team win the Albanian League is my top priority at the moment.”
“Some clubs have even come to Albania to watch me play, but that’s not my concern. My job is to stay focused and aligned with the team’s goals, while my agent handles any potential deals. Hopefully, a move can happen next summer, but for now, it’s all about Egnatia,” he concluded.
Wotlai’s Impact at KF Egnatia
The former Nigeria U-23 international has been in superb form since joining Albanian giants KF Egnatia Rrogozhinë from Abia Warriors in early 2024.
A dynamic box-to-box midfielder valued at €50,000 by Transfermarkt, Wotlai has made 20 appearances across all competitions, including one goal in the Albania Cup.
Strengths and Playing Style
Known for his athleticism, high work rate, and ability to cover large areas of the pitch, Wotlai’s playing style has drawn comparisons to Leicester City and Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
With his consistent performances, it’s no surprise that the 23-year-old is attracting interest from across Europe. But for now, his eyes are firmly set on leading Egnatia to domestic glory before considering any next move.
