Promising Nigerian forward Gift Sunday in an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria has reiterated his priority of making an instant impact for Norwegian club IK Start following his loan move from FK Bodø/Glimt for the remainder of the season.
Since joining IK Start, the pacey Nigerian forward has been a handful for his new club in pre-season friendlies, a form he aims to replicate when the new Norwegian OBOS-ligaen season kicks off.
In an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria, the Nigerian goal-scoring sensation revealed how he has settled into his new club and shared his ambition of becoming a standout player for IK Start in the 2025/2026 OBOS-ligaen season.
“Settling and adapting to my new club has been awesome, many thanks to my new teammates as well as the coaches, who have been ever-supportive and accommodating.”
On his new club’s style of play and the coach’s philosophy, he added:
“They play attacking football here, and that suits my style of play because I am a very direct player. This is why I’ve been involved in all the club’s friendlies since joining.”
“I look forward to a remarkable and memorable season when the new campaign gets underway. I love making a mark at every club I am privileged to play for, and I’m going to make an instant impact for the team this season.”
Dubbed the ‘Nigerian Mbappé,’ the P Sports Football Academy product is regarded as one of Nigeria’s Under-20 prospects to watch in 2025.
