In a transfer race heating up, Serie A leaders Inter Milan are vying with English Premier League side Arsenal for the coveted signature of Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee, according to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 22-year-old center-forward has been turning heads with his impressive performances in the Serie A this season, amassing seven goals and leading Bologna’s charge for a continental qualification spot.
Reports suggest that Inter Milan has set its sights on Zirkzee, hoping to add him to their roster. However, the Nerazzurri face a formidable obstacle in the form of the player’s valuation, which stands at a hefty €60 million—a price tag that Inter Milan considers expensive. According to Transfermarkt the forward’s current market value estimates at €30 million.
While Zirkzee does possess a €40 million release clause, this can only be activated by Bayern Munich, as stipulated in his contract when he made the move to Bologna in the summer of 2022.
The young striker’s future is further complicated by the need for consistent game time to develop into a world-class talent. A move to Inter Milan, with its current striking duo of Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram, may not align with Zirkzee’s ambitions.
