National Team Achievements
Born in England, Ademola Lookman had the opportunity to represent two national teams. At the youth level, the forward rejected several offers from the Nigerian team and played for the English side. In 2017, Lookman participated in the Under-20 World Cup held in South Korea. In that tournament, he scored a brace against Costa Rica in the Round of 16 and added a goal against Italy in the semi-finals. England went on to win the final against Venezuela, securing their first-ever youth title.
Despite Lookman’s success with the English national team and three rejections to play for Nigeria, in January 2020, the Nigerian Football Federation announced his switch to the Nigerian national team. Lookman made his debut for the African national team two years later. Currently, the forward has played eight matches for the Nigerian team, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
