Nigerian international and in-form attacker Ademola Lookman is expected to leave Serie A side Atalanta during the upcoming summer transfer window, amid growing interest from top European clubs—including Juventus, Napoli, Arsenal, and earlier, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Recent reports suggest that Juventus and Napoli are now frontrunners in the race for the reigning African Player of the Year. Lookman, 27, is under contract with Atalanta until June 2027, but the club is open to offers, valuing him at around €60 million.

In an exclusive interview with Africa Foot Nigerian football legend Uche Okechukwu has thrown his support behind a potential move to either of the Italian giants, insisting that both clubs would suit Lookman perfectly.
“I don’t want to speak with finality because at the moment, all we have are media reports and tabloids. But if he should join Napoli or Juventus, I’m fully convinced he’d shine, given the nature of football there. He’s a top forward, and it’s no surprise he’s being linked with the best teams in Europe,” Okechukwu said.
The 57-year-old former Fenerbahçe and Super Eagles defender added:
“Napoli and Juventus are perfect projects for Lookman. He has been in Italy for a while now and understands the league. These are two of the biggest clubs in the country with great ambitions, both domestically and in Europe. He’s a team player—strong, fast, and he scores goals. I don’t see why he wouldn’t succeed at either club.”
Lookman’s stats this season underline his quality. In just 40 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 20 goals and provided six assists, helping propel Atalanta to a Champions League spot. Since joining the Bergamo-based club, he has amassed 118 appearances, scoring 52 goals and recording 21 assists over three seasons.
