The New England Revolution head into the clash in 11th spot on the Eastern conference division standings, having dropped out of the playoffs position with a poor run of form in June. Despite a run of one defeat in 11 matches between April and May, the Revs are winless in their past four league games since that impressive run, suffering three defeats including the 2-1 loss to Portland Timbers in their last match.
