Nigerian defender Philip Ipole’s time in Israel has come to an end after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Hapoel Acre Football Club, Kick Off Nigeria has exclusively learned.
The rock-solid Nigerian defender’s stint with Hapoel Acre hit a snag after he sustained a groin injury that kept him sidelined for months.
The 23-year-old Nigerian international’s long injury layoff was a key factor in the club’s decision to terminate his contract, as they sought to free up a foreign player slot.
Currently in Nigeria, Ipole—who underwent surgery in Israel—has begun his rehabilitation process as he aims to regain full fitness.
Now a free agent, the Nigerian defender is uncertain about his next move, with his future depending on his full recovery.
Ipole joined Hapoel Acre in 2024 and managed just five appearances before his injury. He had previously played for Israeli top-flight side Hapoel Hadera F.C. before making the switch.
