Unheralded Nigerian striker Tunji Omotosho is set to leave Egyptian Premier League side El Dakhlia SC, with growing interest from clubs across Africa and Europe, Kick Off Nigeria has exclusively learned.
The 22-year-old forward, known for his towering presence and physical strength, has seen his contract with El Dakhlia expire at the end of the season and is currently not in talks for a renewal, as he seeks a new challenge abroad.
Omotosho Confirms El Dakhlia Exit
Speaking exclusively to Kick Off Nigeria, Omotosho confirmed his decision to move on from the Egyptian club, although no next destination has been finalized yet.
“It’s been a swell time playing for El Dakhlia SC, and I think it’s right to take a bow when the ovation is loudest — and that’s my stance on this. Clubs have contacted my agent, as he rightly informed me, but withheld the names. For me, I look forward to making a return to Europe. I’m currently on vacation, unwinding after a rigorous season. My next move will be made public when the transfer window officially reopens.”
From Box2Box FC to Europe and Back
Omotosho began his professional football journey with Nigerian-based academy Box2Box FC, where his impressive performances earned him a move to Czech Republic outfit Baník Ostrava in 2021.
After a brief stint in Europe, he returned to Africa, signing for Egyptian Premier League side El Dakhlia SC.
During the 2023/24 season, the Nigerian forward was loaned out to Amanat Baghdad SC, where he recorded five goals and one assist in 11 appearances.
Transfer Market Value and Next Move
Currently valued at €100,000 by Transfermarkt, Omotosho is attracting attention as a low-cost but high-potential signing. His representatives are in discussions with interested parties, and the player is hopeful of securing a move back to Europe when the summer transfer window opens.
