The Nigerian prodigy has signed his first professional contract with West Ham United, as per the club’s official website.
This significant milestone coincides with his 17th birthday, a momentous occasion he celebrated with his family at the Rush Green Training Ground.
Emeka Adiele, a promising young wing-back, expressed his gratitude:
“It’s a really nice feeling and I’m very grateful to be here with my family to celebrate this moment,” he said. “Growing up, they’ve always been there, supporting me, guiding me and making sure I’m doing the right things and staying focused.”
Adiele’s journey with West Ham began at the Under-9 level, and he has consistently impressed coaches with his skills and attitude. Reflecting on his decision to commit to the Hammers, he said:
“I’ve built really strong relationships with the coaches here. Lauris [Coggin] has been really good to me, and I look forward to playing more for the U21s under Mark [Robson].”
Known for his versatility and goal-scoring ability, Adiele made significant strides in his first year as a scholar, contributing nine goals in the U18 Premier League. His performances earned him a debut in the Premier League 2 towards the end of last season. This summer, he has been a regular fixture in the Development Squad, participating in pre-season fixtures and a training camp in Spain.
