Umar Sadiq’s journey in Spain may be coming to an end, as new reports suggest a potential move to Greece or Serbia for the Nigerian and Real Sociedad striker, according to Serbian media outlet B92.
After a lackluster tenure at Real Sociedad, Sadiq is seeking a fresh start where he can secure more regular playing time. Last season, the Super Eagles striker managed only 14 starts out of 34 appearances, netting just three goals and providing one assist.

Despite these modest statistics, Sadiq remains in demand. Four La Liga clubs, including Getafe and Valencia, are reportedly interested in acquiring him. However, his appeal extends beyond Spain, with Greek powerhouse Olympiakos and Serbian giants Partizan also expressing a keen interest.
Sadiq is well-versed in adapting to new environments. Since moving to Europe in 2014, the Kaduna-born forward has played in Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, Serbia, and Spain.
The 27-year-old enjoyed his most prolific period at Almeria, joining the club in 2020 when they were in Spain’s second division. Sadiq scored an impressive 43 goals and provided 19 assists in 84 matches, playing a pivotal role in Almeria’s promotion to La Liga. His stellar performance led to a record transfer to Real Sociedad in 2022, where he scored on his league debut in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.
