Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike believes that not only Galatasaray and Besiktas but the entire Turkish Super Lig will benefit from having Victor Osimhen and Wilfred Ndidi for the seasons to come.
The 26-year-old Osimhen spent the 2024/25 season on a loan at the Istanbul club. In August Galatasaray paid €75 million to the Italian side Napoli for the Nigerian striker’s transfer.
Last week Ndidi joined Turkish giants Besiktas on a three-year deal worth around €9.5 million.
“Osimhen is a fantastic player, with a lot of energy. His move to Turkey would be a huge boost for the league. He’s a fantastic player, and I wish him the best at Galatasaray. Ndidi’s transfer to Türkiye will also be beneficial for the league because he’s both a fantastic player and a very humble person. I wish all Nigerian players in the Süper Lig the best this season,” Emenike told Mackolik.
He also mentioned Paul Onuachu, another Nigerian striker, who decided to return to Trabzonspor after not so much successful spell with Southampton in English Premier League.
“Paul is also a fantastic player. I watched a few of his matches. He’s a good player, but I haven’t been able to follow him closely. However, in the few matches I’ve watched, I’ve seen that he’s a good striker, and I like him,” Emenike added.
Emenike, who retired from football in 2019, himself spent six years in Turkey with Karabükspor and Fenerbahçe.
