Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has officially debunked widespread reports suggesting they pursued Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen during the 2024 summer transfer window, as per Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
According to PSG’s Sporting Director, Luís Campos, the French giants did not submit a formal offer for the Napoli forward, despite the media buzz linking Osimhen to the Ligue 1 club as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé.
Campos revealed in an interview that while Osimhen was indeed considered an option, PSG ultimately decided not to pursue the Nigerian star.
“Osimhen was considered as one of the options, but we never sent any bid.”
He further explained that the club was satisfied with its existing attacking line-up, which includes Gonçalo Ramos, Kolo Muani, and Marcos Asensio, making a new striker unnecessary

Rumours had circulated throughout the summer suggesting PSG would target Osimhen, who has a €130 million release clause, as Mbappé looked set for a move to Real Madrid. However, PSG chose to focus on their existing squad, and Osimhen eventually secured a season-long loan to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Osimhen’s move came after months of speculation involving several top European clubs, including Chelsea and Saudi Arabian teams, but the Nigerian forward is now expected to make an impact in the Turkish Super Lig as he embarks on this new chapter with Galatasaray.
