Kelechi Iheanacho’s future at Sevilla is in doubt after another disappointing performance, this time against Celta Vigo, as per Marca.
Starting in place of the suspended Isaac during Jesús Navas’ farewell match, Iheanacho struggled to make an impact and hindered the team’s overall play. His underwhelming display was further highlighted by Álvaro García Pascual’s impressive debut in the second half.
Since joining Sevilla on a free transfer from Leicester City last summer, the Nigerian striker has played 581 minutes across nine La Liga games and two Copa del Rey matches, scoring three goals—all in cup competition. Despite his work ethic, Iheanacho has failed to meet expectations as the replacement for Youssef En-Nesyri, who has excelled in Turkey with eight goals and three assists.

Sevilla are now considering offloading Iheanacho in the January transfer window as they restructure their forward line. While coach García Pimienta initially valued Iheanacho for his versatility, the striker has yet to deliver in either goals or overall contributions. With the second half of the season approaching, Iheanacho’s time to prove his worth may be running out.
According to Transfermarkt the Nigerian’s current value is estimated at €9 million.
