Nigerian striker Stephen Chinedu in an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria has expressed his excitement after signing a two-year contract with Serbian SuperLiga side FK Radnički 1923, joining from Bosnian club Nogometni Klub Široki Brijeg.
The towering forward, who had an outstanding season with Široki Brijeg last campaign, attracted attention from several clubs, with the majority of offers coming from Asian teams
After successfully passing FK Radnički 1923’s routine medicals, the Nigerian star inked a two-year deal and has now been officially unveiled by his new club. According to Transfermarkt, Chinedu’s current market value stands at €200,000, reflecting his rising reputation in European football.
Why Chinedu Chose FK Radnički 1923
Speaking exclusively with Kick Off Nigeria shortly after his unveiling, Chinedu shared insights into the interest he received from other clubs and what ultimately convinced him to sign for FK Radnički 1923.
“I had interest from clubs in the Balkans, but most of the offers came from Asian teams. However, I was looking for the right project where I could continue to develop and make a real impact. The Romanian league is very competitive, and it has many historic clubs. That was also an option, but when FK Radnički 1923 approached me, they really made me feel wanted.”
“I feel renewed with this move — it’s a fresh start for me. I’m more motivated than ever to enjoy the moment and prove myself. The coach and management convinced me to join after they explained their vision for the club. I believe my style of play fits in perfectly, and together, we can build a very successful story.”
“For me, this is an important step forward in my career. I want to improve, keep learning, and most importantly—score a lot of goals.”
The visibly delighted Chinedu concluded by expressing his ambition to help the team and further develop his skills.
