Following his transfer to United Arab Emirates (UAE) top-flight club Al-Wasl, Nigerian striker Isaac Success has committed to revitalizing his career after a challenging period. In an exclusive interview with Kick Off Nigeria, the 28-year-old expressed his strong desire to demonstrate his potential once again, feeling he still has much to offer despite the difficult end to his time in Italy.
Success joined Al-Wasl in the UAE Pro League after his contract with Italian Serie A club Udinese Calcio was terminated, leaving him a free agent for several months.
“What happened there [in Italy] doesn’t define my time at Al-Wasl or what’s to come. This is a fresh start, and I’m looking forward to a great experience in the UAE,” Success shared.
“I feel fitter than ever in my career, and I’m ready to help this team achieve great things. There’s a lot that people haven’t seen from me, so this is my chance to prove the doubters wrong and get back to the top,” he added.

Just last Saturday, Success joined Al-Wasl and has already made his debut, scoring for the club. Coming on in the 78th minute on Tuesday, he netted the decisive goal in Al-Wasl’s 2-1 AFC Champions League win against Al-Gharafa.
“I was thrilled to score on my debut, but the win is what truly matters. It boosts our morale as a united team. We’re like a family here, and I’ve felt welcomed. In just a few minutes, I was able to contribute, and I hope to keep doing so. We all work for each other,” Success noted.
“Thanks also to Coach Milos Milojevic [Al-Wasl manager]. His vision is clear; even though I’ve only been here briefly, I can see he’s offering us a lot. He brings valuable experience and personality to the team.”
“I’m eager to learn from him and improve daily. There are no excuses—the platform is here for me to reach my best again. I can assure you all, Success is far from finished,” he concluded.
Success has previously played for Malaga and Granada in Spain, English club Watford, and Udinese in Italy. Internationally, he has represented Nigeria at the U17, U20, U23, and senior levels with the Super Eagles.
