Toulouse FC are in negotiations to sign Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru from Saudi Pro League side Al-Fayha ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports from Africa Foot.
The 27-year-old winger, who joined Al-Fayha in 2023 from Turkish club Adana Demirspor, has struggled for playing time this season, featuring in just four matches. With his contract set to expire in June 2025 and no plans for renewal from Al-Fayha, Onyekuru is now looking for a fresh start in Europe.
Toulouse are reportedly offering a three-year contract with the option of a fourth season. A source close to the negotiations stated:
“Toulouse reached out with a three-year contract offer. They are serious and determined. Talks are expected to progress in the coming weeks. Henry hasn’t given a final answer yet, but it’s unlikely to be an issue. He just needs game time—he barely played this season and wants to move forward.”
Onyekuru previously impressed at Adana Demirspor, scoring 8 goals and providing 2 assists in a single season. Since his move to Al-Fayha, he has made 38 appearances, scoring 11 goals and registering 3 assists.
Throughout his career, Onyekuru has played for notable clubs including Olympiacos, Galatasaray, AS Monaco, Anderlecht, and Eupen. On the international stage, he has earned 15 caps for Nigeria, scoring once and contributing two assists.
Toulouse are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season, and the addition of a dynamic winger like Onyekuru could provide a valuable boost to their attacking options.
