Nigerian striker Sunday Megwo is attracting serious attention from Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 powerhouses Club Africain and CS Sfaxien, Kick Off Nigeria exclusively reports.
Both clubs have reportedly contacted Nigerian side Abia Warriors about signing the highly rated 20-year-old forward.
The two Tunisian giants have been tracking Megwo since his breakout season with Abia Warriors last year. Following his remarkable performances, the striker has become a top priority for both clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
Megwo currently leads Abia Warriors in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), scoring six goals in the first half of the season. The talented striker is also part of the Nigeria Super Eagles B squad, preparing for the CHAN tournament scheduled for next month.
Speaking from the Super Eagles B camp, Megwo confirmed the growing interest in his services.
“Club Africain and CS Sfaxien have already contacted my agent and my club, and all negotiations so far have been positive,“ said the towering forward.
“There’s also an offer from Egyptian side Pharco FC and even a Chinese club,” he added. “Ultimately, it’s up to my club and agent to decide. Right now, my focus is on helping the Nigerian team succeed in the upcoming CHAN tournament.”
Megwo joined Abia Warriors from lower-division side Abia Comets and has since become a key player in the NPFL. Known for his goal-scoring prowess, he has made a significant impact on the league and remains one of the hottest prospects in Nigerian football.
With multiple clubs vying for his signature, including top teams from Tunisia, Egypt, and China, the January transfer window promises to be pivotal in Sunday Megwo’s career.
