Nigerian midfielder Luqman Gilmore has shed light on his future after mutually ending his contract with Armenian club Football Club Urartu. Speaking exclusively to Kick Off Nigeria about his next steps, the former Nigerian U-17 and U-23 player expressed optimism despite the uncertainty.
Gilmore joined Urartu in the 2023/2024 season from Latvian club FK Liepaja. During his brief time with the former Armenian League champions, he made 15 appearances and scored two goals. However, in a recent conversation with Nigerian journalist Nwosu Chigozie, Gilmore shared his perspective on parting ways with the club and his plans moving forward.
“On a mutual basis, I have terminated my contract with Football Club Urartu, and I wish the club the very best in the future,” he said. “Currently, I’m a free player with no destination in view at the moment, but hopefully, my agents will come up with something soon.”
Gilmore’s words reflect a measured confidence as he explores new opportunities. With a career that has seen him play for clubs such as FC Imereti, Dinamo Tbilisi, FK Zugdidi, and Samgurali, the midfielder is no stranger to adapting to new challenges.
As we wait where Gilmore lands next, his statement highlights the possibilities ahead: “My future is wide open.”
