AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is reportedly nearing a high-profile transfer to Saudi Arabia, with the deal possibly happening as soon as January, according to MilanNews24.
Chukwueze, who signed with the Italian club last year, has struggled to secure consistent playing time, fueling speculation about his future with the team.
Even after Stefano Pioli’s departure and the arrival of new head coach Paulo Fonseca, the Nigerian international remains in competition for a starting position. Chukwueze appeared to be making progress during the preseason when Fonseca gave him a more prominent role. However, AC Milan’s disappointing start to the 2024/25 Serie A season, where they failed to win their first three matches, has cast doubt over his role.

According to reports, AC Milan has identified Inter Milan’s young forward Sebastiano Esposito as a possible replacement if Chukwueze opts for a January departure.
A tempting offer from Saudi Arabia could persuade the 25-year-old to make the move, particularly if his situation at Milan remains unchanged in the coming months. According to Transfermarkt, the Nigerian striker’s current value estimates at €20 million.
Milan’s recent performances have shown improvement, with two victories in their last three games, including a notable 2-1 win against local rivals Inter Milan. Christian Pulisic’s decisive goal in the derby has cemented his place as Fonseca’s preferred option on the right wing, further diminishing Chukwueze’s opportunities.
