Former Super Eagles captain and Everton defender Joseph Yobo in an exclusive interview to Kick Off Nigeria, has expressed his support for Ademola Lookman’s potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, urging the Nigerian star to seize this rare opportunity.
Earlier it was reported that the French giants eye Lookman as a potential transfer target. Yobo sees PSG as a high-stakes environment where Lookman could hone his skills and showcase his talent on a larger scale. Playing under a celebrated coach like Luis Enrique, he believes, would be beneficial for Lookman’s development and reputation.
“Just take up the chance, lad, don’t lock it out,” Yobo said, referring to PSG’s interest. “It’s not many times that a club of the stature and caliber of PSG will come out for you, so take it. I mean, Luis Enrique, an absolute legend, thinks you’re a star, so why not?”
Yobo acknowledged that the door to other top clubs could remain open for Lookman, but he sees PSG as a pivotal step in the winger’s career. He emphasized that Lookman is only 26 and still has ample time to make his mark.
“The sky’s the limit for Ade,” Yobo added. “He’s not 30 yet. He’ll definitely shine if he makes it to France. He has the skills and determination, and PSG could give him that grand stage to show the world what he’s all about.”

However, Yobo also advised Lookman to keep his options open as a player with significant European potential. He stressed the importance of Lookman’s timing, suggesting that the winger should play his best this season and wait for the right moment to make his move. According to Yobo, Lookman is already a star but could reach greater heights with a club of PSG’s prestige.
“Play your best, wait for the PSG offer or another team, and he should go for it,” Yobo concluded. “He is a star, a darling of Nigerian football, and still has a lot to offer. Give him the stage, and he’ll continue showing what he is all about.”
As PSG leads the race for Lookman, Yobo’s advice highlights the long-term benefits and growth potential that a move to the French club could bring, positioning Lookman among Europe’s elite while still keeping his career options open for future pursuits.
Today Atalanta with Lookman will face Stuttgart in a Champions League clash, where all eyes will be on the Nigerian striker.
